The future is here it’s just not evenly distributed, tech we are used to seeing every week is still unheard of for many people. This is a sure sign of how early it is for Construction Automation relative to “trendy” topics like bitcoin or chatGPT. It is much better not to be trendy, the people magnetized to these bandwagon industries have a habit of over-inflating them. Avoiding the limelight will smooth out the highs and lows. I love bitcoin and ChatGPT by the way (never used either to write this newsletter though).

I think Humanoid Robots may be an explosive moment for hardware automation overall, in one felled swoop taking over all the tasks which don’t require detailed thinking.

Research Institute of Sweden is working on a 3D printed concrete facade concept with thinner printed concrete than we have seen previously. It was my perception a few weeks ago that every 3D printed building was a facade with no columns underneath but that is not the case, Black Buffalo printers have completed one project with no columns and Icon claims their buildings have structural walls as well. I am working on getting a copy of the latest AC 509 to read so I can report on the details of what extent 3D printed material is being permitted for use structurally.
