3D printed concrete stadium seating is an awesome application for massive one off designs which it would be impractical to make formwork with.
The tallest 3D printed concrete structure in the world is under construction by ETH Zurich.
Many of you know I am a big fan of Icon (any everyone contributing to construction automation) but when I see articles like this it breaks my heart. if your homes are faster cheaper and only take 3 weeks to print why did it take 7 printers and over a year to compete 100 homes? Why aren’t you starting 100 more after the first 100 were complete? I find it very hard to believe there were cost savings considering you aren’t jumping out your boots to start the next project.
Reuters, what evidence did you get for these claims? This article is shameful in my opinion without any information to back up the cost or time claims.
Cost claims have been made before and they will been made again. I like icon. I believe I have a good relationship with their company, I am going to assume the Reuters author made a mistake until I’m given a reason not to.
Very disappointing to see articles like this prematurely announcing victory.
When victory comes it will be a self multiplying bullet train hockey stick graph of growth fueling so much new home construction, 2008 looks like a walk in the park.
Housing will be made affordable by robots but I won’t ring the gong until I’m 100% sure.
Humanoid robot progress is speeding up around the world with hobbyists, students, and startups rapidly accelerating towards a useful human shaped robot.
Here is the new stuff I saw over the last week.
This guy Saba is making humanoids from scratch in his kitchen.
Trying to pickup a watermelon via tele-operation. It wasn’t easy lol.
I’m facing the robot so the “controls” were reversed. Time to get a camera and improve the hands.

This quirky bot looks way more approachable and consumer friendly than most. Figure and Tesla bots both look paladin whereas this one looks super approachable.

Are you looking to hire 3dcp or construction automation talent? HumanRobotArmy.com has collected the biggest list of 3DCP resumes in the world and for the first time is openly seeking new clients. Previously only the candidates were marketed towards and we only served clients who asked.
If you are a construction automation firm looking for the balance of ambition and reality, respond to this email and I’ll tell you how Human Robot Army can help you. My audience is not brainwashed on ‘faster cheaper’ claims yet they are vigorously pursuing a future of construction automation with far more vigor than the folks shouting ‘faster cheaper’ from the mountaintops.
